Spring NURAMP workshops start April 15

The Office of Research will offer another series of NURAMP (Research Administration Management Program) workshops this spring for UNL faculty, staff, postdocs and graduate students who conduct, support or administer research projects.

The spring workshop series begins April 15. Topics to be addressed include proposal development strategies, preparing proposals for submission, creating proposal budgets, conducting research responsibly, receiving and administering an award and protecting intellectual property.

Presenters will be experts from various units in the Office of Research: Sponsored Programs, Proposal Development, Research Responsibility, Technology Development and the Vice Chancellor's office. A schedule of dates, times and locations, as well as registration information, is available at research.unl.edu/nuramp.

NURAMP began in fall 2007, with more than 80 people participating in the first workshop series. NURAMP's goal is to ensure that UNL research continues to move forward in compliance with funding requirements and in support of the principles of institutional integrity and credibility. NURAMP provides the latest information on research regulations, policies and procedures, and access to resources and contacts for further assistance in managing research projects and programs.

NURAMP educational activities and resources are available for all university employees engaged in research and creative activity, as well as administrative staff who support research at the program, department or college levels in planning, managing or administering grant-funded or sponsored projects.

NURAMP also offers monthly instructional workshops in using NUgrant, UNL's secure electronic research administration system. Additional special sessions this spring focus on new forms and requirements for using Grants.gov and effort reporting and Personal Activity Reports (PARS).

Participants may pursue a certificate of achievement by participating in a combination of required workshops and elective activities.
