Join the Research Fair celebration![]() Prem Paul, vice chancellor for research and economic development Research Fair has become a great springtime tradition on our campus. It's the time to salute our talented faculty's successes, learn from representatives from federal funding agencies and enjoy some excellent professional development offerings. I know this is a busy time for everyone, but I hope you will make time to participate. Research Fair is a unique opportunity to learn more about funding agency priorities and how to more successfully compete for grants. The federal program officers and other experts who present at Research Fair share important information and insights that can help you become more successful. Giving faculty the chance to hear from and meet federal agency program officers is one of the major goals for this event. Interactions with program officers, colleagues and students are important to your success and to our broader efforts to enhance research and creative activities campuswide. We also make sure that program officers and dignitaries learn about UNL while they are on campus. It gives us the chance to show off our talented faculty, their research programs and our facilities. Program officers who participate in Research Fair return to Washington with a better understanding of our research and a visual snapshot of UNL's capabilities. We also showcase our students' excellent projects during Research Fair. The Office of Graduate Studies has several events slated April 2, including our popular graduate student poster competition. Plan to stop by and visit with our talented students. On April 3, the Office of Undergraduate Studies has an entire day of events slated for the Undergraduate Research Conference. Please encourage your students to participate. We have a terrific lineup this year. You can read more specifics elsewhere in this newsletter and check out the complete schedule on the Research Fair Web site. Take a few minutes to review the offerings, register for events (if required) and plan to mix business with pleasure at the 2008 UNL Research Fair. I'll see you there! | |
