Welcome to Research News

Vice Chancellor for Research Prem Paul

It's my pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural issue of Research News. The Office of Research team designed this newsletter to keep our campus community informed about research-related news and information. It's my hope that this will become another tool from our office to help enhance your success.

We'll feature stories about your work, celebrate successes, announce events, highlight faculty resources, report our collective accomplishments and keep you posted on Office of Research services, procedures and policies. For example, this issue features timely information about the upcoming fifth annual UNL Research Fair, in which I hope you will participate.

Improving communications about research across our campus is a long-time goal of mine, and this internal newsletter is an important component of this broader aim. I believe keeping each other informed is critical to our research success. This newsletter is the latest in our efforts to make sure important information is widely shared.

We're delivering the newsletter electronically - via e-mail and on the Web - to maximize accessibility and portability. You can receive it whether you're in the office or traveling, click on links for more information and check the Research News Web site if you want to refer to information or see a previous issue.

We've designed a newsletter that provides information you need in an accessible format, but this is an evolving project. We want it to be as useful as possible and welcome your feedback so we can improve future issues.

If you have ideas or news to share for the newsletter, please contact Vicki Miller, our research communications coordinator, at vmiller2@unl.edu, 472-3813. Vicki will be happy to visit with you.

We have much to be proud of at UNL and we should share this good news whenever we have the chance, so feel free to share Research News with colleagues. As you'll see from this inaugural and future issues, UNL research truly is on the move.
