Research compliance a shared role

Everyone has a role in ensuring research is conducted ethically and responsibly.

The Office of Research Responsibility fosters responsible conduct of university research and scholarship in compliance with federal, state and university regulations and guidelines. Faculty, staff and students engaged in research activities are encouraged to work with ORR to meet these goals.

ORR, through faculty committees, must approve all research, teaching and extension activities involving human subjects and the care and use of animals. It also oversees export control, and evaluates and manages potential conflicts of interest in research.

Any adverse events or unanticipated problems related to the conduct of research and research compliance should be reported immediately. To report adverse events or discuss research compliance issues, contact the appropriate compliance office.

  • Institutional Animal Care: 472-4486
  • Export Controls: 472-4491
  • Human Research Protections: 472-6965
  • Conflicts of Interest in Research: 472-6965
