Diverse lineup for Research Fair April 14-16

The 2009 UNL Research Fair April 14-16 will feature presentations and events for faculty, staff and students on diverse topics including federal stimulus funding, international opportunities and working with industry and private foundations.

This is the seventh year for the annual campuswide celebration of research and creativity, sponsored by the Office of Research. It has become a spring tradition at UNL. The fair features presentations by federal agency representatives on research needs, opportunities and priorities, talks by experts on a variety of research and technology issues and celebrations of faculty and student achievements. Students will display their work during graduate and undergraduate poster sessions and participate in other activities.

"We have a fantastic lineup of speakers on several especially timely and important topics," said Prem Paul, vice chancellor for research and economic development. "There's something for everyone. I hope the entire campus takes advantage of these sessions."

The latest information, including a complete schedule and speakers' bios, are available on the Research Fair Web site. Events are free to the public in the Nebraska Union but some require registration. Books written by UNL faculty during 2008 will be displayed in the union throughout the fair.

Nearly two dozen speakers are slated, including representatives from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Association of American Universities, the Council on Governmental Relations, and the Council for International Exchange of Scholars.
