Agricultural Research Division
The major research arm of the University of Nebraska’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Agricultural Research Division, focuses on natural resource management and solutions to challenges facing the state’s natural resources, agriculture and food industries.
Biological Process Development Facility
The Biological Process Development Facility (BPDF) is a multidisciplinary facility dedicated to providing process research and development capabilities to transition biopharmaceuticals from discovery to Phase I/II clinical trial. Using state-of-the-art equipment, pilot-scale facilities, a highly trained staff, and a newly built cGMP suite, the BPDF is well qualified to provide public and private sector clients with process research & development and early manufacturing services starting with strain development and optimization up to final bulk production under cGMP and everything in-between.
Center for Applied Rural Innovation
The Center for Applied Rural Innovation (CARI), an interdisciplinary research and extension center, uses a holistic approach to development that focuses on the economic and social interdependence of agriculture, communities and families. CARI is the focal point within the UNL for communities and individuals to obtain information and program support needed to enhance their economic and social well-being.
Center for Entrepreneurship
The Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship aims to equip students with the skills they need to be world-class entrepreneurs. The Center also works to foster an environment that incentivizes them to start and to grow their businesses here in Nebraska.
Center for Plant Science Innovation
The Center for Plant Science Innovation is an interdisciplinary research and training program in the basic plant sciences. Faculty research emphases include plant-microbe interactions, plant signaling and organellar biology, abiotic and biotic stress responses, and genomics/proteomics.
College of Arts and Sciences

College of Business Administration
UNL College of Business Administration (CBA)is educating the next generation of ethical, global business leaders based on our Four Pillars of Excellence: Ethics, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and International Experience. The College offers a bachelor of science in business administration degree, five masters degrees, three joint masters degrees (juris doctorate/master of business administration, juris doctorate/master of professional accountancy, and master of business administration/master of architecture), an MBA specialization in Agribusiness, and Ph.D. programs in Economics and Business Administration.
College of Engineering
UNL is home to Nebraska’s only engineering college. College of Engineering (CoE) is recognized for innovation in nanoscience, transportation, structures, computer and electronics engineering and materials research. Emphasis is being added in the areas of biomechanics, materials and medicine, renewable energy production, distribution and consumption, and cyber infrastructures. The CoE graduate program offers Ph.D., Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Master of Architectural Engineering degree programs with dozens of specializations.
College of Law
UNL’s College of Law has leading scholars in international law, environmental law, intellectual property, labor law, tax law, juvenile law, human rights and constitutional law, and has exclusive capacity in space and telecommunications law. The college offers J.D. and Master of Legal Studies degrees, and joint graduate degree programs in Psychology, Business, Community and Regional Planning, Economics, Educational Administration and Political Science.
Extension fulfills the University’s land grant mission through outreach to local businesses and communities. Supporting Nebraska’s industries by incorporating new technologies and concepts, developing green tourism and organizing ag marketing collaborative are just a few of the ways that Extension connects University resources with the state’s people and businesses.
Online and Distance Education
The Office of Extended Education and Outreach provides opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students to complete degrees through online and distance education.

The Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management is the recognized leader in undergraduate and graduate interdisciplinary computer science and business management education. Office of Sponsored Programs
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is a service support unit that offers assistance to the UNL community for their creative scholarly and research endeavors. OSP provides pre-award support including contract negotiations, serving as a liaison with external agencies and reviewing and accepting awards. Post-award support is also provided, including issuing subagreements and serving as a liaison between departments and auditors or reviewers.
NUtech Ventures’s (NUtech) mission is to help translate academic research into new products and services for the benefit of Nebraskans and the public. We are dedicated to assisting University inventors commercialize their technologies to support both economic development and future research at the University.
