Eric Lyons is an assistant professor in the University of Arizona’s School of Plant Sciences. He is an expert in plant comparative genomics and life science cyberinfrastructure. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed research articles, four book chapters and maintains the widely used comparative genomics platforms CoGe and EPIC-CoGe. He has been a community collaborator of the iPlant Collaborative and is a co-principal investigator on the project during its five-year renewal phase.
Lyons holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining the University of Arizona, he spent several years working for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and bioinformatics companies.
