Dates: June 27 to 29, 2017
Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Prem S. Paul Research Center at Whittier School

Overview and Goal

UNL faculty planning to submit proposals to the Faculty Early Career Development Program at the National Science Foundation are invited to participate in an inaugural NSF CAREER Award Club. The Office of Research and Economic Development is organizing this event to provide protected writing time and centralized, comprehensive proposal development support for faculty finalizing NSF CAREER program applications for July submission.

The NSF CAREER Award Club is intended as a follow-on to the Early CAREER Workshop held at UNL on March 2. Faculty who participate in the club will have access to quiet writing spaces and experts in the NSF CAREER Award program, proposal development, and budget development. A graphic artist and a program evaluation specialist also will be in attendance.

Dr. Kathie L. Olsen, founder and managing director of ScienceWorks, will attend the club on June 27 and 28 and be available to interact with faculty one-on-one. In addition, lunch presentations will focus on topics of interest to early career faculty, including how the NSF CAREER Award influences recipients’ professional trajectories, competitive intelligence for preparing successful CAREER Award proposals, and early career development programs at agencies beyond NSF.

Parking

Faculty with Lot A permits may park in the lots south or west of Whittier School. Faculty without Lot A permits should park in the visitor spots south of Whittier or on the street.
