University of Nebraska-Lincoln
August 15-16, 2005
Embassy Suites Hotel, Lincoln, Nebraska
Purpose
• Discuss strategic directions in national cyberinfrastructure projects and programs
• Highlight research activities and cyberinfrastructure resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and
University of Nebraska system that are required for advancing research competitiveness
• Identify university leaders to participate in cyberinfrastructure planning and to lead development of competitive proposals and projects
• Initiate a planning process for the advancement of cyberinfrastructure to promote R&D competitiveness in areas of significant federal programs
• Serve as the basis for a seed grant program to fund development of large-scale proposals in cyberinfrastructure and CI-related research.
Outline for CI Workshop
Leading researchers and science administrators of CI and R&D will discuss strategic vision and program direction, and faculty from UNL and the University of Nebraska system with CI-related research interests will discuss their research and CI needs. Breakout groups targeting specific research and education areas will discuss what CI Strategies, Resources and Partnerships critical for advancing research competitiveness.
