Researchers interested in pursuing Department of Energy funding are encouraged to attend a Dec. 6 professional development workshop, “Demystifying the U.S. Department of Energy.”

The workshop is 8:30-11:30 a.m. in Room 152 of the Prem S. Paul Research Center at Whittier School, 2200 Vine St. Register here.

The half-day workshop will provide an overview of navigating the DOE system of national laboratories and headquarters. A grant writing portion will focus on proposal concept development and storytelling specifically for DOE, including examples of strong and weak proposal development efforts.

Kristin Bennett, founder, president and CEO of KB Science LLC, will lead the workshop. Bennett brings over 25 years of technical and management experience that includes serving as a program manager in DOE’s Office of Basic Energy Sciences and as a project manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The workshop is free and open to Nebraska faculty. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-seated basis.

For more information, contact Kathy Partlow, senior proposal development coordinator, 402-472-4066, or Tisha Mullen, director of proposal development, 402-472-2894.
