Deadlines are approaching for two internal funding opportunities this fall.

Proposals should be submitted through NUgrant’s Internal Funding module unless otherwise indicated in the request for applications. The Internal Funding Opportunities website links to a NUgrant page for each competition that contains program details and the request for applications.

Arts and Humanities Research Enhancement Program: Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 28. This program provides seed money to foster research, scholarship and creative activity in the arts and humanities in order to enhance academic excellence in these disciplines and increase UNL’s competitiveness for external grants.

Layman Awards: Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Nov. 11. Layman Awards fund projects to enhance a recipient’s ability to obtain external funding to support prominent scholarly work. There are two programs: the Layman Seed Program, which funds new projects by non-tenured junior faculty, and the New Directions Program, which funds tenured faculty who are re-entering research or branching out in new directions.
